Our little champs of Grade 1, 2 & 3 accompanied by their teachers visited Danzoo at Bahria Town, Karachi on Thursday, 20 December 2018. The zoo is spread over 70 acres of beautiful clean and tidy area with spacious animal enclosures.
Their warm smiles, enthusiastic banter and chirpy voices warmed up the surroundings. The sound of their laughter and playful mood could be heard all over the zoo.
Firstly they enjoyed yummy homemade snacks while soaking in the warm winter sunlight and later they assembled in queues and strolled along the pond to witness various wonderful species of ducks, geese , swans and other pond animals. They also witnessed a crocodile sunbathing with all its glory while it’s baby swam and indulged in the cool lake water.
The buggies took them on a ride all over the park so that they could observe animals like Deer , Ibex , Kudu , Nyala , Giraffes, Zebras , Gemsbok, Springbok, White Tiger , White Lion , Leopard , Bengal Lion , Monkeys , Ostrich , Llamas , Emu & Rhea. Looking at these giant creatures up close they experienced about how humans pose a threat to many of the big cats and other endangered species. They also had first hand learning experience about how these animals look like in real life and the habitat around their enclosures.
The time flew as if it had wings. Once the buggy rides came to an end the kids assembled to eat their lunch once again in the garden and then gathered to play and pose for pictures along with animal sculptures and statues.
Finally it was time to return back to school. They waved their final goodbyes to the animals and embarked their buses, carrying along with them memories that shall remain etched into their hearts forever.
